What do you expect to learn from the class? What are your plans for next year? How will Humanities help you reach your goals?
This year in Humanities i hope to get a better understanding of art, and music and theatre. I was in band for six years and I enjoyed every minute of it. Not only did we produce wonderful music. We had so much fun working hard and coming together to create our symphony. I've never been to an opera, or a ballet with the exception of the Nutcracker last Christmas. I hope that I will come to appreciate and understand this form of art. I think for me, I've always thought ballets were really cool, and opera's sounded like they'd be really interesting, but thought since I wasn't involved in it first hand wouldn't really understand it or like it that much. I'm hoping to prove myself wrong. I also really enjoy history. I think out of this class I'm going to learn a lot about certain periods of time in history when plays were written. I think that plays and novels written during certain time periods really explain a lot of how people were and how things were done. History can be shown through these plays which i find really cool.
My plans for next year is to hopefully get into BYU and run track. Humanities can help me reach my goals for next year, by well first of all were all writing our college essays and its gotta be good to get in :). Ha ha, but really on more of an "artistic" note, humanities can help me reach my goals for being another keystone in my history book to help me with all sorts of other classes I may encounter in the future.
